Taxonomy
Acropentias sp. 1. an unnamed specimen from Brunei, (Labi Road) in the NHM accessions.
Description
The ground colour is snow white with fulvous on the FW subcostal and submarginal areas and with a large brown discal spot. The HW has a small diffuse fulvous area near to the tornus. The FW has five brown spots on the costa towards the apex. Similar markings continue as brown dashed termenal lines around both wings. The FW is traversed by antemedian and post median fulvous lines the latter being sharply angled inwards around R5. Note the the large furry maxillary palpi and the prominent recurved labial palpi. Note the sharp angle in the post median fascia and compare with Acropentias spp. 2 & 3. This sp. is not Acropentias aureus (Butler, 1878: 402) which is totally different and may be absent from Borneo.
