Taxonomy
Acropentias sp. 2. An unnamed specimen in the Schulze Coll. from Sabah (PHS). Det. by W. Speidel as near Acropentias aureus (Butler 1878: 402). It may be a ssp. of A. aureus.
Description
The ground colour is snow white with fulvous on the FW subcostal and submarginal areas and with a large brown discal spot. The HW has a small diffuse fulvous area near to the tornus. The FW has five spots on the costa near the apex these spots continue as brown dashed marginal lines on both wings. The FW has an incomplete fulvous antemedian line and a distinct fulvous rounded post median line. The HW has a distinct curving postmedian fascia. Schulze (2000) Taxon #977. This morphotype is similar to Acropentias sp. 1 but differs from it and A. aureus in the shape of the fawn post median fascia on the FW. Acropentias sp. 2 is much more heavily suffused in brown.
