Taxonomy
- Imaged specimen from 'W. Malaysia'.
- The holotype of A. probolopis Meyrick, 1894:477 is from Kalimantan Selatan, (Pulau Laut) (Ms. sp. rev. Shaffer 1993). It is in the NHM (Mi7424).
- It was once considered a syn. of A. polyphoralis Walker, [1866] 1865; Dalla Torre 1914:44.
Description
A small species with distinct brown fasciation, especially the dark median fascia of FW & HW which widens to the posterior. Note the distinct pale patches on the FW Costa. Common (1990:100, fig. 31:5) gives a good monochrome photograph of the female. A. castaneata Warren, 1908: 325 from Milne Bay, PNG is very similar in patterning.
Life History
Feeds on Macaranga, possibly M. fallacina, CATS accessed Sept. 2009.
