Agrotera sp. 5. Morphotypes in the Schulze Coll. resembling a specimen #4643, from PHS (canopy walkway) determined by W. Speidel as near A. posticolalis Wileman, 1911.

n.b. it is not A. posticalis or A. nemoralis but it may be may be Agrotera lienpingialis Caradja, 1925: 388, fig.

Description

Like most members of the A. basinotata group the basal area of the FW and the thorax are cream speckled with orange. Distally the wings are a deep purple with brown lineation. The FW margin and fringe is chequered with purple on white. Note the long, orange and cream tegulae, tipped with black. This differs from a typical A. posticolalis in having an orange orbicular patch adjacent to the elongate black stigma similar to A. nemoralis. Schulze (2000) taxon #219. A specimen from Kalimantan in RMN Leiden (Ins 19448) has been bar-coded (BOLD (Ratnasingham & Hebert, 2007)). See A. lienpingialis 1925: 338, fig.
