Taxonomy
Coptobasis sp. 1. A distinctive, common and fairly large unnamed sp. from Sabah and Brunei. Specimens seen in the Schulze & SLS Colls. Generic placement uncertain.
Description
There are few pale markings beyond a faint submedian fascia on the silky golden brown brown wings which have a pale bluish nacreous sheen.The FW are distinctively elongated and pointed. The frons is a pale buff colour as is its broad distinctive pectoral collar. The males have small dark sparse anal scale pencils and sometimes a narrow dark band on the last abdominal tergite. The antennae are filiform with a slightly inflated base. The legs are silvery buff, darker patterned near the bases.
This may be the female of Coptobasis sp. 2.
