The types of Glyphodes picticostalis Hampson, 1896: 351 is from Burma, (Tenasserim Valley); & Andaman Is.. Inoue (1996) in his comprehensive revision of the genus determined that this was not a Palpita with no available genus for transfer.

The Margaronia warrenalis group is closely related to Palpita and also Cydalima sensu lata. Here we treat it in Cydalima with similar morphotypes in the Margaronia warrenalis group.

Description

A delicate, shining white sp., with an indistinct grey subtermenal band (more distinct on UndS) and a pale fawn FW costa. A small sinuous mark looking like a black ‘V’  is present at the outer edge of the discal cell and usually a small black spot is present near the proximal end of the cell of all wings. Note the narrow black marginal lines at the base of the wing fringes. A Roger Kitching specimen M1644 [illustrated], from Brunei (Temburong), has less sharply defined black discal marks and has diffused faint grey areas subtermenally and medially and may not be conspecific. See RTS (1994: 187, pl. 31, fig.5).
