Taxonomy

Deuterarcha? sp. 1. A live specimen photographed by David Fischer W. Malaysia (Fraser's Hill, Stephen's Place). Generic placement uncertain.

Description

A handsome morphospecies. The margins of all wings are broadly brown with a purplish sheen. The anterior of the thorax is yellow as are the bases of the the patagia. The posterior thorax, the middle of the patagia are brown forming an obvious brown band across the thorax highlighted distally by the yellow wing bases and the ends of the patagia. The middle of the FW is bright orange-yellow crossed by a broad brown, median band, The HW is yellow except for the termenae. The abdomen is dark brown with yellowish intersegmental bands.

Similar Species

Deuterarcha xanthomela Meyrick 1884: 313 is similar but is restricted to Australia.
