Taxonomy
The female holotype of Dichocrocis atrisectalis Hampson, 1908: 580 from India (Andaman Is.) is in the BMNH.
Description
An orange-yellow sp. with black spotted wings, the largest on the FW costa at the ante-median and post- median position. Palpi black above; fore tibia blackish at tips. Head, thorax and abdomen mainly yellow. The latter with subdorsal black spots on the second abdominal segment.
Similar to Xanthomelaena Hampson, 1896: 255 spp. but this sp. lacks the apical spots typical of Xanthomelaena schematias (Meyrick, 1894). Xanthomelaena spp. lack the subdorsal black spots on the second abdominal segment.
