Taxonomy
The holotype of Aulacodes melanops Hampson, 1896: 214 is from India (Sikkim).

Description
This sp. has a typical Eoophyla patterning and colours, of fulvous, brown and white. FW with a brown sub-termenal band, a triangular brown post median patch widest at the costa and a fulvous termenal band separated from the post median patch by a whiteband. The falcate HW is mainly fulvous and white with a basal fulvous patch and a broad fulvous sub termenal band separeated from the basal area by a broad white median band. the termenal margin has four mainly complete black eyespots. The male is slightly smaller than the female (8-11mm; female 11-15mm). No Bornean specimens confirmed.
