Description

The patterning of both males and females are very similar and distinctive although the males may be larger than the females Note the large tuft of hair scales beyond the tornus on the posterior edge of the FW in the males. The orange-yellow FW is clouded with grey centrally and has sub marginal and post median white fasciae. The HW is typical of Eristena, deeply falcate, with a broad white subbasal band on orange-yellow. On the termen are a white eye-spot and near the tornus a small black spot. HW veins M2 and M3 are stalked. The male genitalia illustrated by Mey (2009 figs. 1-4) are also distinctive. The sp. is similar to E. endosaris (Meyrick, 1894a) and E. fulva Yoshiyasu 1987 from Thailand.
