Taxonomy
Eugauria sp. 1 nr. E. albidentata (Hampson 1897). Specimens in the HSB, Schulze & SLS Colls.
Description
The sp. is mainly brown including the head abdomen and thorax. The brown FW with an elongate white triangle extending from the costa in the sub-apical region. Slightly near the apex is a similar orange fascia. Note the tornal fold of the HW which may conceal the eyespot on the tornus. Schulze (2000) taxon #016 This morphotype is less dark and differs from E. albidentata Hampson in the prominence of the white ‘eyespots’ on the HW termen and it has a narrower HW dark subtermenal band bordered by an orange line.
