Taxonomy

Hemopsis sp. 1. is an un-named morphotype nr. H. falsidicalis, in the Borneensis collection from Sabah (KML).

Description

A chocolate brown sp. with paler markings. Fresh specimens are a pale yellow which fades to white. The head, thorax and are dull brown. The abdomen is more fulvous with narrow dark segmental rings. The wing markings are very similar to Hemopsis dissipatalis (Lederer, 1863c) & Herpetogramma [Patania] expictalis Christoph, 1881: 36 but the cream areas on the median part of FW are smaller and those on the HW are more delineated by dark brown marginal lines.
