Taxonomy
The holotype of Herdonia subpulchella Inoue, 2001 is figured. It is from Brunei (Sg. Rampayoh) and is in the NHM (Mi7449).
Description
Male 34-40mm, female 39-44mm. It has very similar male antennae to H. pulchella but is larger. The FW has a patch of black reticulation near the outer rear margin which is more distinct than in H. pulchella and two small square red-brown patches at the termen of the FW. The HW has thin black submaginal and median fasciae. In H. pulchella the HW double median and postmedian lines are expanded towards the margins but the marginal areas of the wings have less yellow fawn shading. .
