Taxonomy
Hoploscopa matheae Léger & Nuss, 2020. The female holotype was an unidentified specimen Sabah, Mt. Kinabalu, KML, reported by Mally et al. (2017: pl. 2B). The species was described by Léger & Nuss, 2020: 15-16, figs 1, 47, 88.
Description
A handsome dark brown and cream sp. with a plain dark brown HW. The broad pale FW fascia and the basal and distal discoidal spots partly ringed in cream is distinctive (Léger & Nuss 2020, fig. 1). Specimen BC MTD Lep 03004 of Hoploscopa ADE1420 from the genetic analysis, abdomen removed for DNA extraction and genitalia dissection (Léger & Nuss, 2020, figs 47, 88.)
Life History
Postulated to be a fern feeder (Polypodiaceae?) (Mally et al. 2017).
