Hypolamprus bipunctatus Warren

Taxonomy

W. Malaysia, GTE. The holotype of Hypolamprus bipunctatus Warren, 1897:198 is from Java. This species is not well placed in Hypolamprus and Shaffer indicated that Rhodoneura might be more appropriate (Shaffer, ms comb. n. 1992 LepIndex), but here it is retained in Hypolamprus pending further investigation of Rhodoneura, Collinsa and Pharambara. It resembles several indistinctly marked species currently placed in Collinsa:

  • C. rhodosticta
  • C. roseopuncta

Description

The FW costa has a dark brown c-shaped orbicular mark and a series of small dark brown spots where the veins meet the fringes. The HW median fascia is indicated by an elongate dark spot on the inner margin.
