Taxonomy
Holotype, Oinainisa, Timor. The holotype of Hypolamprus vinosata Warren, 1908:338 from Timor (Oinanisa) is in the NHM (Mi7374). It was considered a synonym of H. stylophora:
- H. emblicalis
but although the pattern is generally similar, the colouring and FW shape are distinctly different, suggesting that it is a good species. ms. stat. rev. (Shaffer 1992. LepIndex).
Description
The wings have a complex fasciation of dark reddish brown markings on a golden background. The median fascia forks near the costa giving a ‘y’ shape. Parts of the wings are lightly flushed with pink.
