Taxonomy
Sarawak, Mulu, Camp 4. The holotype of Pharambara compunctalis Warren, 1896a:208 from India (Meghalaya, Khasia Hills) is in the NHM (Mi7355).
Description
A small brown mottled species with indistinct reticulation. It has incomplete, darker, median and marginal fasciae on the HW and a series of triangular marks of various sizes on the FW costa. There is a black spot on the FW and HW. Note the shape of the HW. In addition to the nominate ssp. it appears to have two unnamed sspp: ssp. 1 unnamed, Sri Lanka. (dark suffusion on wings); ssp. 2 unnamed, W. Malaysia, Sarawak.
