Taxonomy
Musotima sp. 11. Specimens in the MfNH Berlin and ITBC Borneensis Collections.
It may be a ssp of Ambia [Musotima] instrumentalis Swinhoe, 1894
Description
The wings are primarily white with distinctive black markings. An ochreous band runs along the posterior margin of the FW, towards the tornus. The HW costa and subcosta is similar; broadly ochreous with a projecting apex. The FW has two distinctive black lines which run from the centre. One runs distally toward the termen and then curves up to meet the costa a little before the apex. The other runs diagonally from the middle of the FW to a point on the costa just after the post median position. The HW is heavily suffused with black centrally but has white margins, The head and thorax are white but the abdomen is mainly blackish with white at its tip and base. In the Sabahan specimens the ochreous marks are rather darker brown.
This morphotype is very similar to Ambia instrumentalis Swinhoe, 1894: 209 and that has similar lines but they are brown not black.
