Taxonomy

The male holotype of Niphostola punctata Swinhoe, 1904a: 156 is from Sarawak (Santubong) is in the BMNH.

Description

Wings white with pale brownish areas. On the FW these are mainly subcostal, towards the apex and anterior to the inner margin. The FW has three large black spots two at the ends of the cell and one apical. The HW is mainly grey-brown, paler towards the internal margin. The head is white scaled with a white collar. The thorax is buff with white patagia. The abdomen is buff with white between the segments.
