Taxonomy
The holotype of Botys tapsusalis Walker, 1859: 697 from Kalimantan Selatan (Pulo Laut) [a Wallace specimen] is in the BMNH. This sp. was previously treated in Polygrammodes Guenée 1854 [a New World genus] by Swinhoe (1892) and Meyrick (1884: 320) before being placed in Noctuelia (LepIndex).
Description
A robust pale yellow sp with blackish-purple markings concentrated on the wing bases The FW has an distinct dark median fascia. The veins of the FW are distinctly fulvous towards the termen. A narrow but complicated dark post median linear marks extends across the FW to the tornus. The HW has a dark blotch sub-apically but the distal are is mainly pale yellow.
