Taxonomy

Nymphicula sp. 5 is an unnamed specimen from Sabah (PHS), nr. N. tripunctata Yoshiyasu 1987:177 figs. 29, 33 F, in the Schulze Coll.

Description

A sp. with typical Nymphicula patterning in fulvous orange with large areas of black speckling on white in the median areas. This is almost certainly N. tripunctata previously un-reported from Borneo. Yoshiasu (1987) confirms that it actually has four large eye spots sub termenally on the HW but sometimes the upper two are practically fused together to give the appearance of three spots. Similar unnamed spp. are reported from other places in Borneo. Schulze (2000) taxon # 011. See N. xanthobathra for more diagnostic information.
