Taxonomy

The holotype of Pagyda calida Hampson, 1898: 635 is from the Malay Peninsula (Padang Rengas) the other type is from Sarawak (Baram). Both are in the BMNH.

Description

A fulvous sp. with darker orange markings. Note the dark spots/lines where the antemedian and post median lines reach the FW costa and the small black orbicular stigma/streak. The post median line forks to form an inverted ‘Y’. The HW has three broad lines, two of them straight and a curved submarginal line which unites with the median line before the tornus. A few specimens seen have a purplish caste. The males have the elongated abdomen typical of the genus.
