Taxonomy
The male holotype of Botys theialis Walker 1859d: 689-90 is from Sarawak was collected by A.R. Wallace. The type #1181 is in the Oxford U.M.N.H. It is marked by the typical Wallace round label inscribed 'SAR'
Treated in Pyrausta by Globiz but this may be a Placosaris Meyrick, 1897.
Description
A rather dingy brown species wth darker brown markings on the FW. FW with a circular mark in the cell, a curving serrate post median line and an antemedian line.
Several Placosaris spp. look very similar. See Placosaris arjunoalis and Placosaris sp. 1 & sp. 3.
