Description
The pale lemon yellow colour of this species is very variable and liable to fade soon after capture to a pale fawn. R. sulphurea Warren, 1898 is similar but is a much brighter yellow with purplish red sub-basal fascia and a purple brown spotting on the FW. The pink tinged veins R5, M1& M2 near the FW apex are present and usually obvious in both spp. but are underlaid by a purple/brown suffusion in R.sulphurea. On the Un these veins are much more brightly coloured and the FW cell has a group of blue-green scales in its basal half.
