Taxonomy
The holotype of Apurima lineata Butler, 1879: 457 from Japan [Yokohama] is in the BMNH (Pyralidae genitalia slide no. 6329).
Description
Unlike most Scirpophaga spp. there is virtually no sexual dimorphism beyond a slight size difference. This small creamy white sp. is distinctive with diagonal brown line which traverses the FW and there may be a small black stigmatic spot. The FW has a few tiny dark neural punctae on the termen.
Life History
A stem borer, of Rice (Oryza sativa) (Poaceae).
