Taxonomy
The holotype of Teratauxta paradoxa Hering, 1901: 345 is from Sumatra.
Subfamilial placement is uncertain. It is mostly treated in the Acentropinae but Yoshiyasu (1989: 129) in his re-description considered it a 'Pyraustid'.
Description
An unmistakeable sp. in browns and fawns. The FW costa is distorted creating a pair of ‘eyebrows’ with the white patches of the FW. The HW fringe has unique dentate markings. The filiform antenae have a bulbous base and are extraordinarily long, over twice the wing length. Schulze (2000) taxon #462. See RTS (1994: 168-169,pl.28, fig. 16).
