Taxonomy

The holotype of Phlyctaenodes decoloralis sinense Caradja, 1925a: 105. TL China, (Shanghai; Lienping).

  • syn. Thliptoceras sinense: Munroe, 1967: 723.
    • = T. torridale (Hampson) as a junior synonym of T. decolorale [decoralis] (Warren).

T. sinense (Caradja) is considered a good sp. not a ssp. of T. decolorale [decoralis] (Warren). Munroe 1967. Thiptoceras decoloralis is illustrated in Zhang et al. 2014 fig 25.

Description

A golden yellow species with distinctive dentate brown post median lines and The FW has a brownish sub costa and a spot and a comma-shaped mark in the FW cell. The posterior area of the FW of the paratype is distinctly hairy. wingspan 24-27mm. Although not reported from Malesia we include it as there are several undescribed species resembling this in S.E. Asia.
