Taxonomy

The female holotype of Botys macaralis Walker 1859: 709-710, from Sarawak, is in the BMNH a type? collected by A.R. Wallace from Sarawak is in the Oxford UMNH.

Description

A ‘delicate’ lightly marked Bradina sp. Uniformly a pale pink-brown.

Very similar to Bradina mannusalis Walker, 1859d: 726-727 (TL Australia (Q., Moreton Bay)) and B. adhaesalis which are more distinctly marked and the two are best resolved by genitalic examination.

In Bradina there is pronounced sexual dimorphism with males having very elongate abdomens with long pale hair pencils at the tip.
