Taxonomy

Cydalima sp. 6 nr. warrenalis Swinhoe. A single partly spread unnamed specimen, from Brunei in the BMNH accession boxes. Here we treat it as Cydalima in the Cydalima warrenalis group. This is probably conspecific with Cydalima sp. 7.

Description

A shining silvery sp. The broad subcosta is greyish brown ans veins C & Sc run parallel right to the apical termen. At the postmedian of both wings there are narrow sinuose marks ending in dark spots at the outer end of the disocellular area. The FW has a small circular spot medially near the posterior margin. In addition there are two small dark spots antemedianally and post basally near the subcosta. Note the diffuse pale grey-brown subtermenal band, the termenal neural spots are on alternate veins and are similar to C. warrenalis Swinhoe, 1894 but this morphotype has more distinct brownish subtermenal wing spots and overall it is more brownish. The abdomen is banded in white, ochreous and pale grey. Like Cydalima sp. 7 it is similar to C. warrenalis of which it may be a var.
