Taxonomy
The holotype of Syngamia brevifascialis Wileman, 1911: 377 is from Japan.
Description
A small dark blackish brown sp. with irregularly chequered, wing fringes. There is a broad white triangular mark on the costa at the post-median position. Note the angulated FW termen typical of Diathrausta. The dark black-brown HW has a large white spot towards the costa from which a straight, narrow, white line extends to the inner margin. The head, thorax and abdomen are black with the latter having white segmental markings. An morphotype from Borneo, [Diathrausta sp 1] may be this taxon.
