Taxonomy
Diathrausta sp. 1. A specimen from Borneo (Pulo Laut), Leg. Doherty, found in a series of Diathrausta brevifascialis (Wileman, 1911: 377) in the BMNH.
Description
A small dark blackish brown sp. with irregularly chequered, wing fringes. There is a narrow white triangular mark on the costa at the post-median position. Note the the FW has an angulated termen typical of Diathrausta. The dark black-brown HW has a white spot towards the costa from which a straight, narrow, white line extends to the inner margin. The head, thorax and abdomen are black with the latter having white segmental markings. The patterning of this morphotype closely resembles D. brevifascialis (Wileman, 1911) but that sp. typically has a broader white triangle on the FW and a much larger white spot on the HW. Its TL is Japan. See Diathrausta brevifascialis.
