Description
A sp. with distinctive patterning in yellow and brown. The brown is mainly on the FW subcosta and the broad marginal band. Both wings have a complete, curved, brown, post median line separated from the submarginal zone by a yellow fascia. The FW has a diagonal brown post median line and a diffuse brown stigmatic mark. In the HW the post median line has a distinct bend in its centre.
There is much variability in morphotypes in this ‘Bacotoma ptochura group’ similar to this sp. and the group may be a species complex. Several forms are illustrated here as unnamed spp. near B. ptochura.
